Rutgers University-Camden junior Quentin Griffith (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) shot a 7-over par 77 to earn medalist honors and lead the Scarlet Raptors to victory at the Rutgers-Camden Quad here Wednesday.
The event was held at the Par 70, 6,250-yard Pennsauken Country Club.
Griffith helped the Scarlet Raptors’ A team shoot a 328, three strokes ahead of the Rutgers-Camden B team. Richard Stockton College’s club team finished third (336), followed by William Paterson University (352) and the Rowan University club team (416).
Griffith finished first out of 25 golfers.
Freshman Christopher McDonald (Washington Township, NJ/Paul VI) led the Scarlet Raptors’ B team with a 79, finishing second overall.
In addition to Griffith, the Rutgers-Camden A team included freshman Chris Engel (Alloway, NJ/Woodstown), seniors Joe DeVito (Washington Township, NJ/Washington Township) and Andrew Pierson (Washington Township, NJ/Paul VI) and freshman Louis Wilson (Pitman, NJ/Pitman). Engel shot an 83 (tied for sixth), DeVito and Pierson both shot an 84 (tied for ninth) and Wilson finished with an 85 (tied for 12th).
The Rutgers-Camden B team, in addition to McDonald, included freshmen Nicholas Chilelli (Mantua, NJ/Clearview Regional) and Vito D’Arcangelo (Winslow, NJ/St. Augustine Prep), senior Jason Badecki (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) and freshman Tara Bolger (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial). Chilelli shot an 81 (tied for fourth), D’Arcangelo shot an 83 (tied for sixth), Badecki carded an 88 (15th) and Bolger finished at 94 (tied for 18th).
Rutgers-Camden sophomore Joe Miller (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) also competed as an individual and shot a 98 (tied for 22nd).
